What IF...

Cracking the code on the Hope Dispatch meant gathering up all our story sparks and setting the world ablaze with hope?

Dear Hopestars

I’ve loved writing The Hope Dispatch these past four months. I’m deeply grateful for this community. So many of you send me thoughtful emails when something lands, and I’m humbled by the brilliant people who choose to read each week.

But I don’t want to *just* write a newsletter. I’ve been wrestling with what comes next; how to deepen community and create genuine impact around the notion of Hope. I hit a valley-of-darkness moment, questioning myself, my writing, and the whole point of it all. I even considered stepping back.

And then - a lightning bolt.

What IF we threw our biggest, gnarliest challenges into a pot, added a huge dose of hope and creativity, and stirred with the belief that we can get through this time stronger? What IF we became experts in telling potent stories of transformation, the stories that carry blueprints for fixing, hacking, and reshaping the very systems that undermine us?

Stories told with intention, powered by joy. Building community, connection, and confidence. Each one a breadcrumb toward a future worth choosing. That alone would be worth doing. But what if we didn’t just write the stories, but pooled our resources to publish them ourselves?

Enter the Imaginarium Fellowship (IF)

It’s not just about writing circles and Dare Dreaming workshops. It’s an engine that publishes our stories into the world - with writers getting a fairer cut than any book deal, and a whole community cheering them on.

Here’s how it is taking shape:

  • Small circles of 3–7 meet monthly to spark and draft stories.

  • The collective chooses the ones that shine brightest.

  • IF edits, publishes, and releases them as zines, anthologies, and podcasts.

  • Writers share in the sales. Everyone shares in the joy. The world gets an injection of hope, imagination, and possibility.

And if it all works as elegantly as I hope, the most powerful ideas will feed into the Imaginarium Lab - where we prototype and test them before releasing them into the wild.

Join the Mischief Early

Before IF launches publicly, I want my beloved Hope Dispatch readers to have first dibs. So I’ve created the Pool of Possibility - a waiting list where early conspirators, risk-takers, and hope-holders put up their hands to be selected for the very first circles.

Think of it as a founders’ circle. If you jump in early, you’ll help set the tone, spark the first stories, and be remembered as “the ones who lit the fire.”

I’d also love to hear from any impact investors keen to seed-fund this. Social return on investment is written all over it.

Reply with your thoughts, your questions, or your wild application. Fingers crossed the stars align - and you’ll be among the very first sparks.

I like to think of the practice of telling stories together as ancient social technology. This picture captures how I envisage our story circles would feel - fun, social and inspiring.
