Flourishing Together: Hope and Intentionality in the Age of AI
What if the true paradigm shift isn’t the technology, but in us?
Here is something a little different this week. It’s been a big one - two conferences and a talk at the School of Design, Massey University - Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa.
One conference, on Impact Investment, was hopeful and uplifting. The other, on The Future, was sobering. Together they painted a picture of what’s ahead: disruption on a scale we haven’t lived through before.
So what do we do with that? First, we breathe. Then we square our shoulders, roll up our sleeves, and prepare - not only to adapt our work, but to care for ourselves and each other. We’ll need to refocus our attention, pivot when necessary, and strengthen the communities closest to us, because they will matter more than ever.
AI will be one of the forces reshaping everything. But instead of treating it as a thief of jobs, what if we saw it as a mirror - asking us what only humans can bring? What if its disruption is less about replacing us, and more about making our humanity relevant again?
That’s the provocation I offered in my talk at Massey. I’d love for you to watch it - it’s a 10 min call to hope, intentionality, and flourishing together in the age of AI.
